Susan Steen (Chair)
For
the past 20 years, Susan Steen has served in an executive capacity for
many not-for profit organizations across Canada including her current
role as Executive Director for the Central Okanagan Hospice
Association, West Coast Railway Association, United Way (Kelowna),
Computers for Success Canada, Gifts in Kind Canada, Mississauga
Heritage Foundation, Canadian Red Cross Society and the Cerebral Palsy
Association of Alberta. She has a proven track record of successful
management, and administrative experience.
Susan earned her Bachelor of Arts from Concordia University in English
and History in 1969 and a Certificate in Museum Management in 1970. She
is a member of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals and the
Canadian Society of Association Executives.
Susan has been recruited to the Board of BC Technology for Learning
Society to capture her expertise in delivering a successful
not-for-profit organization, experience in board development, and in
working with Industry Canada and other CFS stakeholders during her
tenure with CFSC. She has been on the board since 2008.

John Nosotti
John recently retired from a 38 years career with the Federal Government service in both the Departments of Communications and Industry in various
management capacities in both Ontario and BC including Radio Frequency Authorizations, Spectrum Operations and District Director, Northern BC/Yukon District Office.
John also had a distinguished career in Canada's Militia serving as a lieutenant Colonel and is the recipient of the Canadian Decoration for long service with three bars (42 years),
and most recently specialzing in cadet training.
John has been recruited for his expertise and experience with the Federal Government as well as his unique insight into operational aspects of CFS through his tenure
as a volunteer technician. He has been on the board since 2008.

Rochelle Grayson (Secretary-Treasurer)
Rochelle
has an extensive background in the business and not-for-profit sectors.
She is currently the CEO for the newly founded BookRiff, and has past
experience as the President for Work at Play, as a Social Media &
Social Entertainment Consultant, and as a Co-Founder for Artsites.ca
and Twemes.com.
Rochelle holds an MBA in Finance and Business Strategy from the
University of Chicago and a BA in German Literature and has completed
intensive media training. She is trilingual, speaking English, German
and Spanish.
Since 2008, Rochelle has been nominated as one of Canada's Top 100 Most
Powerful Women by the Women’s Executive Network, been named “The New
Executive Cool Hunter” by Canadian Business Magazine, been included as
one of Vancouver’s Top Forty Under 40 by Business in Vancouver, and
listed as one of Vancouver's Top 10 Technology Women. She’s also the
recipient of the Canadian Women in Communications' Trailblazer:
Excellence in Leadership Award.
Rochelle is serving seven other not-for-profit organizations in
Vancouver in addition to Computers for Schools, sitting on the boards
for New Media BC and Canadian Women in Communications. She has been
recruited for her financial background and social networking savvy.

Monica Kosmak
Monica
is a zero waste planning manager at the City of Vancouver and principal of Garbage Critic, a consultancy
dedicated to stopping waste before it starts. Monica is renowned for
her expertise in BC's extended producer responsibility (EPR) programs
or product stewardship/take-back programs. She is past co-chair of the
BC Product Stewardship Council, a member of the Recycling Council of
British Columbia's policy committee and EPR working group, and was on
the advisory committee to BC's electronics product stewardship program
during the planning phase. Monica is currently is developing a zero
waste plan to help the City of Vancouver achieve its goal of becoming
the world's greenest city.
Monica graduated from distinction from the University of Victoria with
a B.Sc double major in environmental studies and geography. She has
published articles in trade journals and is a recurring guest lecturer
in UBC's environmental science program.
Monica became involved in e-waste issues almost a decade ago through
her work at Metro Vancouver, where she worked with the electronics
industry and the environment ministry to establish a province-wide
electronics stewardship program.
Monica has been recruited for her expertise in complexities of the
e-waste discussion, and ability to promote the effectiveness of re-use
prior to recycling. She has been a member of the board since 2008.

Paul Chahil
Paul is a highly motivated, respected and an innovative leader
with a proven record in client and partner management, service delivery
operations, leadership, contract management, project management, and
financial management. He has over fourteen years of financial
management experience, including three years of fiscal budget
management in excess of $20M per year and seven years of profit and
loss responsibilities.
Paul has been with TELUS for since 2007 and is currently on the TELUS IS Operations – Client Technology Enablement Team.
Previously, he has been responsible for managing IT service delivery
for the following companies: Ballard Power Systems, BC Rail, Westcoast
Energy, EDS, and ICBC. His key responsibilities were to maintain and
build lasting relationships and deliver to contractual obligations.
Paul was recruited to the CFS Board of Directors in 2009 to
continue our importance alliance with TELUS and for his extensive
business background.

Stan Mah
Stan has been teaching Technology Education to grade 8 to 12
students in the Burnaby District since 1997. Prior to beginning his
teaching career, Stan was in the engineering field as a designer and
inventor for almost 20 years. He was involved with the inception of the
Neil Squire Foundation, and the Second International Microgravity Lab
Project with the Canadian Space Agency and NASA, STS-65.
Stan holds a B. A. Sc in Mechanical Engineering (UBC, 1979), a B. Ed
with specialities in Math and Physics, (UBC, 1997) and a M. Ed in
Educational Technology (SFU, 2006). Stan is also a member of the
Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC.
Stan’s many green hobbies are recycling old electronic parts to build
different electronic gadgets and electric bicycles. He sponsored an
electric go-kart club in which students designed and built electric
go-karts with used car components. He has presented many workshops in
Robotics and Electronics to Technology Instructors.
Stan was recruited to the CFS Board of Directors in 2010 to provide a current teaching perspective.

We are saddened by the untimely passing of peter Silvanovich. Peter had served on the board in the capacity as Chair since our inception in 1995. Peter
was a long time employee at IBM and also Chaired Destination Imagination. His insights, attention to detail and risk management will be missed.
